Foundation enrolments for 2024 are now open
Starting school is a very exciting time for not only children, but also for families. It is essential that when families are making the decision about which school to send their child, they are fully informed as to make the right choice for each individual child’s needs. Updat-ed Primary School is committed to developing strong educational partnerships with its parent community, so if you are considering HHPS as the school for your child, then it is very important that you take the time to gather all the necessary information to ensure you are making this right choice for both your child and your family’s context.
Eligibility
To be eligible to enrol for Prep 2024, your child will need to turn 5 years of age by 30th April 2024.
Enrolment Process
Enrolment forms may be collected from the school office or after the completion of school tours.
Documentation required includes:
- a completed Enrolment Form
- a copy of the child’s original birth certificate or passport
- an immunisation certificate (this can be added later as the vaccinations are completed)
- Residency Visa [including sub-class number] for non-Australian Residents only
- Proof of the address of family residence (utility bill to family name/lease agreement)

School Zones
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria. Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined by your permanent residential address.
Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places. For more information, you can visit School zones for answers to frequently asked questions
What to do to enrol:
- Contact our school on 1300 755 010 to book a school tour or to learn more about school and the enrolment application process. Our office staff will check your address and advise if you are in our school zone.
- Download the ‘Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents/Carers.'
- Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 28 July 2023
- You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 11 August 2023.
- If you receive an offer of placement, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 25 August 2023
- Attend the information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2023
- Your child will start Prep in 2024 (start date will be communicated once finalised)
Enrolment applications submitted after 28 July 2023 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.
Transition Mornings & Orientation Day
A 2024 Prep Transition Program and Orientation Day will be held in Term 4 for all Preps commencing in 2024. This is a wonderful opportunity for all our new preps to familiarise themselves with the school environment, get to know their new friends and meet their teachers.
Details of this program will be emailed out with confirmation letter and Compass details. Information about these sessions will be also posted on the school’s Compass portal during Term 4.
